okay, so this gonna sound a little stupid, but its the honest truth. i was at a party this night with a couple friends (im 13) and we were making smores. so...heres the stupid part...i was making my marshmallow and i liked them burnt so i made it catch on fire. while it was still aflame, it fell of my stick cuz like marshmallows get all mushy then, and it fell on the back of my hand while it was still on fire. i got it off after like 3 seconds, but the hot mushy part was harder to get off and it stayed on for while. i put my hand in cold water immediatly but after it still hurt. i got home and it still hurts. its not that bad, its like a line of red splotches, i dont have any blisters or peeling but it still hurts. i didn't want to tell my mom because she might get mad at me or freak out or not let me go to parties anymore, so advice please, what should i do?

1994 dodge shadow engine swap 3.0L 5speed.?

ive had this dodge shadow about a year and a half. my throwout bearing was going but i wasnt gonna tear the motor out to just change it unless i was putting a new motor in it. So i bought a motor from a junkyard it came out of a 1995 chrysler lebaron with only 60,000 miles on it. i bought new clutches, new water pump, new plugs and wires, and distributor. and tore the old one out and put the new one in...which went pretty damn well and i was happy with the job. it fired up first try but i have a miss. not a constant miss but a hesitation. it seems to clear up over 3000rpms. but not always its weird. does anyone have any suggestions or anything on what could be wrong. i really need this car to run. i like it alot. its been a damn good car and i wanna get atleast another year or 2 out of it. so PLEASE anyone. thank you for reading

2002 Altima Firewall?

I am installing subs in my 02 Altima. I have put subs in numerous cars, yet I cant find any openings. Anyone installed subs in an 02 Altima? One guy told me to go through the wheel well into the fender into the car, one said to run it under the body of the car and drill through the trunk which sounds 100% retarded, and others said to just drill through the firewall. Its an automatic so i was going to drill where the clutch petal would belong but before i do any other ideas? All my cars Ive owned i been lucky to have a rubber boot that you can pull out to have a pre-drilled hole into my car. If you going to say drill through the fire wall any specific drill bits? Or just standard metal drill bit will do.

The people in my town dress very chavy and it's all about addias here everyone must have addias to fit in! Hydraulic line leak, need a way to patch it up so clutch pedal can work?

Toyota Celica rear axle seized?

I overheated the engine (separate problem) & still was able to drive & park it for a few days. I came back a few days later & the back wheels are locked up. The car is front-wheel drive. It is not the regular disc brakes (we took the caliper off one side with no change). We are pretty sure it isn't the emergency brake (it seems to be working fine) & it isn't the clutch. It goes into gear & "tries" to go, but the rear wheels won't let it budge more than a centimeter. Suggestions? It appears the rear axle is seized, but I have no idea how it could have happened or how to fix it. I can't even tow it!

hey everyone i have a 1995 Holden commodore vs series one manual OK sorry this is quite hard to explain recently my cars clutch has started to go so its burning out however i cannot seem to make the car move at all if the clutch has burned out on a manual car it is still possible to drive without a clutch isn't it but when i do that specific technique where you put the car in 1st gear and turn it off then turn it on and sort of quickly push the accelerator it will go but my car seems to do nothing at all example when i turn the car off and leave it in first gear and do not push the clutch down how you normal would the car does not jump forward at all just sits there like it is in neutral it starts perfectly and such just doesn't move at all in gear. People have suggested to me it could be the fly wheel or the transmission but where not quite sure P.S its a cable clutch if that helps a bit anyway thanks for anyone opinions on this sorry if it is confusing and doesn't make sense its quite hard to explain

Ingenious Plot Or Unrealistic Exercise?- 5th year of high school?

So, essentially I had what I think to be an utterly genius idea: What if I purposefully fail a required high school course so that I can take a fifth year of high school? I know you're probably wondering "Why in God's name would anybody want to do that?" Well, let me give you a little background about myself and give my reasons and perhaps things will begin making a little sense. I'm a junior in High School, and I would like to consider myself "smart." I take three AP (advanced placement- if I do well, I get college credit), 2 honors classes, and concert choir as of now, and my lowest grade is a 100. I scored a 2190 on my SAT (not incredibly fantastic, but it is within pretty much every college's middle 50). I'm planning on taking 6 AP classes next year, which would bring my AP class total to 9. So here's where the trouble comes in: 9 classes would not eliminate my freshman year in college- The solution: Take another 6 the next year by failing AP Economics during the last semester of my senior year. If the school forces me to take summer school, I could easily fail that as well and they would have to allow me to take classes the next year. I could possibly even get a 5 on the AP Econ exam, even with me failing. With 15 AP classes around my belt, I could most likely jump directly into Sophomore year, or have to take very minimal classes my Freshman one. The school I'm looking into is Cornell University, and quite frankly, I would be very happy not having to pay +$60,000 for my Freshman year. From what I understand, Cornell does not give merit based scholarships, only financial need-based ones. My family makes just enough where we don't get the amount of aid needed, but not enough to actually afford that kind of expense. So to the crux of the issue: Are there any obvious pitfalls that I'm missing? I did the math and my GPA would still end up being a 3.85, and I would think my SAT score would help buffer any academic competence issues that may arise. I sort of see that colleges might not want me to ruin their graduation rate, but I don't know if they'll look at me and suspect that I would do that. Any thoughts are helpful.

the shift solenoids are all together known as a solenoid assembly did they change it when they did the rebuild? most shops will did a shop do this? then maybe still under warranty? also problem with one of the speed sensors you have a input and ouput also could be a pcm problem will have to take it to trans shop and let them scan it will be able to narrow it down and you can go from there

Best way to trouble shoot starter issues...?

I got an old 96 Suzuki Bandit that was having starting issues. Had to work the clutch lever sometimes to get it to start. Cable clutch, not hydrolic. So I thought the problem was in the safety switch in the clutch lever. I jumped that out but it changed nothing. There is no turn over at all. I checked the kickstand and neutral safeties also. Where do I go to now? Starter switch? Battery connection to starter? When it did fire up it was solid, just had to pump the clutch a few times.

I made my first attempt @ marshmallow fondant. But it came out squishy and dry on the inside @ the same time.?

First here's the formula I used: 16 ounces white mini-marshmallows, 2 to 5 tablespoons water, 2 pounds icing sugar & 1/2 cup Crisco shortening. After melting the marshmallows the directions said to add 3/4 of the sugar and knead it in. After I got the sugar kneaded in I added the rest. That's where I went downhill. By the time I got most/all of the sugar in the smoothness was gone and it seems like it's too dry, but if water is added, no good. If sugar is added, no good. And if more crisco is added, no good. I can knead it so it's smooth on the outside but the inside is all dry. Can anyone give me an idea what I did wrong?

Need help with a 90s game show?

Ok the only thing I remember about this game show is that there was a round (possibly the final round?) where one contestant of a pair would start at the bottom of a set of steps. On each step there was a challenge where the other contestant of the pair not on the steps would have to guess. I believe one of the steps was a pictionary-type challenge. A case for college reform?

College isn't for everyone, and it's not ideal. What's worse in my mind, though? A public school system that doesn't teach students how to think. All our K-12 education seems to teach is how to regurgitate information for a test. It doesn't teach critical thinking, analysis, world view, communication, etc. All of those skills are what takes a person farther in life, regardless of where they learn them. Why not teach these things to our kids from an early age? How you think is just as important as what you're thinking about. Education shouldn't be about being a mindless drone who can pass a test. That sets you up to do mindless tasks. If you know how to think, and can think about things in new ways, you become an innovator. You become someone who makes things happen. It's not to say that the world doesn't need some mindless drones, but we don't need 50% of our population to be that way. If we want to be world leaders, we need people who can think like them. I'm not just talking about college graduates, or the CEO who figures out a huge cost saving measure for their company. I'm talking about the plumber who figures out a better way to do his job, or the electrician who invents an energy efficient light bulb. If we had more people like that, and fewer people who were complacent, lazy, and unimaginative, we might not be stuck in this rut. That all starts early on, and it needs to continue through high school. How about we stop treating education like an industry, and start treating it like a service provided to young mind who want to learn? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying you're not going far enough.

Rpm's on my manual transmission 2000 Jetta dip when clutch is engaged.?

Here's some more details. Whenever I put the clutch in, or when i start the car, and the transmission is going down from higher to right around idle, they dip too low and then shoot back up to where they're suppose to be when the engine is idling. When that happens the engine acts as if its going to die for a second until the rpms kick back up. I don't really know what to look for or anything I could do to help this, so any suggestions will help!

2006 suzuki rmz-250 starting trouble.?

I have a 2006 suzuki rmz-250 im having some trouble getting it started. it starts fine when it is cold generally 1st or 2nd kick and once you have it hot it starts fine unless you let it set for more than 10 minutes then u almost have to drift start it. the bike was just rebuilt about 3 days ago! new top end,new clutch,new air filter,new oil change, new spark plug, carb cleaned, gas tank flushed, valves shimmed and checked and timing was set back perfectly. so i know its not a mechanical problem i think its an electrical problem what could cause this? my friend said cgi box but i dont know please help i need some advice from some experienced bike mechanics any help is greatly appreciated!

Could I have a mental illness?

Since I was little I've had severe OCD and Panic Attacks. OCD examples; not swallowing my spit because I brought myself to believe that if I did my family would die. Always counting my steps, turning over objects a certain amount (even numbers) of times that would usually equal 4 or 5. 4 being the members of my family and 5 being the members of my family and my pets... I would be saving their lives. I still do this frequently. If I try to stop myself from being OCD, I get very uncomfortable (I clutch my hands and try to think of something else) but it drives me insane. Lately it's been getting worse, I've been in a bad mood all week and I'm depressed. It's exhausting, having to deal with all the thoughts in my head... calculating and adding up letters in words-- and all for what? Nothing. I try to stop myself from doing this but it's like I CAN'T. I've been snapping at people all week because I'm just fed up with myself, I hate myself at this point. I have bad thoughts of killing people and then I feel dirty because of the mistakes I've made in my life and I am just unhappy. Sometimes I find myself talking to myself, just having conversations with someone I don't know and about a situation that's never happened to me. And when I catch myself, I'm like... Just learn to relax and be easier on yourself. You're panicking too much. Maybe try to see your doctor and see if he can give you some meds to help with anxiety? That's what helped me. Fill up the master cylinder and then open the bleed nipple on the slave, and let the fluid run until there is no air bubbles coming from the slave. Make sure that the master does not run low on fluid. Now see if you have an operating clutch.

Grab point of my clutch has been getting lower and gears grind upon start up but gets better after pumping?

I have trouble getting it into gear when I first start it up in the morning but after pumping the clutch a bit it gets a lot better and doesn't grind. I have been noticing the grab point had been getting closer to the floor but its almost to the point now that the clutch is not all the way in when I put it to the floor. Chevy colorado cooling issue?

I have had a hell of a time getting this truck cooling properly. I put in a new thermostat, that I know will open and close as I tested it before it went into the truck. This is what I did. Removed lower radiator hose to drain fluid. Removed the hose from the t-stat. Unbolt t-stat. Bolt new t-stat in place. Put a brand new radiator hose on. Filled truck up with dex-cool. Now here comes the problem. I left radiator cap off and started engine. Left the engine runnig for 30 minutes. T-stat never opens. The top radiator hose is hot. You can put your finger in the top of the radiator it is hot, however the bottom hose is not hot at all. And seeing as the bottom radiator hose is directly connected to the t-stat, it cant get hot enough to open, even though the temp gauge is over half way up. I have also installed a new water pump and fan clutch. Which I know work, cause if I take the t-stat out and put an empty housing in does the opposite and dosent get hot enough and the computer goes nuts. What the heck am i doing wrong here

hey, i have a fiesta 1.1 1993. i have had a service done to it about 6 months ago and got told my emissions was at 600 grams < i think thats the word for it. the maximum is 300 so its double the maximum. when i get out of the car after driving i smell alot of fuel. and if i rev my car a load of black liquid comes out of the exhaust. and my exhaust is very black at the tip of it. but there is loads of it and all of a sudden my battery light has came on. some times it stays on when my car is cut of and keys out. but my car goes flat over night. so the light might just be that my altinator has gone. the car did cut out on me when i came to the end of a road when my clutch is in. revs drop to 1000 rmp then goes up and down up then goes to 0 rpm. i pulled the acceleration tight so problems ok but must be a problem some where. but i dont no what it could be. thank you for reading. Speaking subjectively here, folks. I'm not a writer, I don't write for leisure as some of you evidently do. I only write when I'm required to do so. I personally, (and trust me, I'm not just being modest) don't think I have an ounce of writing talent in me, but much to my surprise, many others beg to differ. Particularly my English teachers. They've always praised my work, (assigned work that is), and have offered I send in essays into contests to which I declined due to my own feelings towards my work. I was awarded my first English award in the third grade. For what, God knows. I've received a few English awards throughout middle school and high school alike for unknown reasons and utter strangers have acknowledged my writing as well, claiming it to be...good or decent at least, for lack of a better term. Regardless, I'm unyielding in my belief that I'm rather average. I'm repetitive, ambiguous in a bad way, and did I mention repetitive? I have no desire to write. My limited imagination wouldn't allow it. Writer's block and I, we've become close friends over the years. So, personally speaking, I believe I'm a terrible writer, despite outside influences. What confounds me is the fact that many of my peers seem to have convinced themselves that they're a poor man's Charles Dickens when most of them can't even write in the simple yet magnetizing style of J.D. Salinger's. An ex friend of mine recently advertised on facebook a confession of hers, (if we can even call it one), claiming that she is 'actually a terrific writer.' She can't even articulate her points when I argue with her, let alone write. Her social networking statues are appallingly ignorant and the majority are grammatically incorrect, yet she has the nerve to proclaim herself a great writer? It's just something I find a little funny. I'm not trying to sound pretentious or precocious because I'm not. Car A/C problem. Light comes on but Compressor doesnt engage?

I have a 1991 Toyota Tercel with factory a/c. When i push the A/C button, the light comes on but the compressor doesn't engage. Now it uses a magnetic clutch to engage the a/c. The first thing the Haynes book says to check is the relay switch way the hell up under the dash. But im wondering, if the light comes on, is the relay switch still good? I try to. When I write I want everything to be perfect especially the one I'm working on right now. I want every meaning to serve it's justice and how can I do that if i'm not passionate enough to put my soul on every page. BQ1: I have to throw out alot of my work and now that I look back at it i don't know what I was thinking. Boiled marshmallow frosting recipe...?

The recipe I have calls for cream of tartar and light corn syrup (no marshmallows). It's not easy to find corn syrup where I am. Can I substitute it with a generic pancake syrup? Question about A/C system on Ford Explorer?

2000 Ford Explorer with the 4.0 and automatic transmission. 140,000 miles. Okay, sometimes the A/C works, and sometimes it doesn't. It first started getting finicky when going down the highway. Acceleration from 40-55 or so would completely kill the A/C system as in it would still blow air but it would be warm. Now it's staring to blow warm air at random. Most of the time it's still cold but just has hick ups where it's warm. When it's cold though, it's cold. I'm having a debate with her stupid uncle because he's saying the system needs to be recharged. I say NO! It's the compressor or the clutch that's going bad. Big Best Answer going out with this one fellas.

Why is my 2008 Suzuki GS500F idling high?

Sorry, the details of this are a bit long. I started this project because I had backfiring through one of the carbs (it's a dual carb motor) and issues with the idle slow to return at a stop. With the high idle, if I slowly released the clutch while stopped, the idle would come back down and stay down. My first fix was re-shimming an exhaust valve which is now within specifications. After that I moved to synchronizing the carbs. At first this was a challenge because the idle was everywhere and the gauges fluctuated everywhere. Then, out of nowhere, the idle jumps to 5000 and stays there. If I put it in gear and hold the brake, as if I were stopped, the idle comes down, but jumps back up as soon as the clutch is pressed. The good thing here is that the idle is consistent enough at 5000 that I could synchronize the carbs. The bad is that I now have synched carbs and a 5k idle. I have adjusted the idle nob at the bottom, it is not even touching. The throttle cables have free play so they aren't the issue. I am confuzzled. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

just installed a brand new clutch kit in my 85 ford ranger.Slips in all the gears.When I put the transmission back on I did notice that it didn't slip in as easily as it should have.It felt like the throw-out bearing was trying to depress the fingers on the pressure plate.Now the clutch slips all the time.Could the throw-out bearing be held out because of air in the slave cylinder?This is the first time something happened like this.I know it is not the clutch kit or the flywheel or oil on the disk.Could it just need a new slave cylinder or bled.

Triumph Daytona 675 will not start......?

Yesterday, my 2008 Triumph Daytona 675 would not start for the 1st time, after push starting it and riding it for a while, it would not start again. Bought a brand new battery from the Triumph Dealership and put it in, and it still would not start. Took it to a local auto parts store and they tested and charged it, put it in and it still will not start. Dash and lights turn on fully. In Neutral, with the clutch down, when I push the starter, it makes a single click noise and a quite long squeaking noise. Any help???

I've driven only automatics since I've had my license. I recently when car shopping and found an awesome deal on a sweet car. I couldn't pass it up. The problem is the car is a stick shift. Everybody says it's not very hard to learn. I haven't had too much trouble but I do have a few questions about what not to do. Things that are bad for the car. Any info would be great. When yielding, after being in second gear, should I slow down and shift to neutral or just stay in second gear through the turn? (Assuming I'm not stopping just slowing down to yield) Also, when down shift do I have to depress the gas while releasing the clutch as I would when shifting up a gear or just depress the clutch? And while down shifting can I be slowing using the break or release the break while depressing the clutch? And can I shift into neutral from any gear? The answer to those questions and any other helpful tips would be appreciated. :D

New manual transmission driver, need some help...?

It doesn't hurt. It gives you a smooth transition between gears. As for depress the clutch all the way in, you don't have too. You need to find a sweet spot where the clutch let you shift. Normally, I depress the clutch about 1/2 to 3/4 in and shifting gears. It is a lot faster shifting than depressing all the way in. One thing, you can always shift from gear to neutral without having to depress the clutch.
